Hello, dear subscribers of The Oceanic State. You have probably noticed a bit of slowdown on my end recently. My last post was on August 27th. Now, you might think that isn’t a big deal, but as someone who tries to get a couple of posts in every week at the least, it is for me.
It is also probably worth it to note that this slowdown has been occuring since October of last year, which is why it bothers me a little bit.
So, what is the explanation? The first factor is the most obvious, and I have stated it many times. I am a university student, and many of my classes are very writing heavy. It gets to the point where I have to take a rest from writing too much otherwise I will get burned out.
The second factor is that I have gotten a new job. My new job is very outdoor labor intensive, so whenever I get back in from being outside all day I just want to wind down and rest a bit. This sort of stacks up with the university work, and thus you notice that my writing on substack has slowed down quite a bit.
This is not to say that I am not going to be writing at all, just that I am going to have to go at a slower pace than I initially wanted to. I made this account because I like posting about politics and current events going on at home and the world. That has not and will not change.
My plan moving forward is to try and get at least one post a week going, most likely on Tuesdays since that is the day of the week that I am most free. Of course, if something really interesting happens that gets my attention and I want to write about it immediately than I shall also do that.
This wasn’t meant to be a long post, I just wanted to let my subscribers know what is going on, since I understand that not everyone on my email list uses the substack app, website, or notes. I am still here. I am still writing.
Thank you for your understanding.
