Blue cities are roughly 1/3 progressives, 1/3 normie Dems, and 1/3 center right leaning business types. Pratt ran a Trumpy campaign from an identity politics pov and got predictable results. You got the normies in the tent with the right soothing words. It's not about the issues.
Rick Caruso came close. Daniel Lurie is alright. Just DINO. I would've voted for Pratt, but MAGA is a toxic brand in an urban context, even crypto MAGA. There is a desire for a different path, but it has to be packaged differently for cities.
