The biggest hypocrisy being committed by the people who have been most vocal about their distaste for Nemlei and this game is that I'm fairly certain they're the same people that would defend a creative like John Waters or a Lars von Trier, despite the contents of their films being far more transgressive than anything in this game. Or, maybe times have changed and even Pink Flamingos would be too much for them. I think that there's some decidedly feminine, catty, and particularly jealous about the entire affair, too, like you can almost feel the seething resentment from her most vocal detractors over the fact something that they personally dislike and someone they personally hate found success. It feels like the most petty, high-school mean girl bathroom shit-talking imaginable; maybe that's fitting, given what the Western gaming scene has turned into over the years.
That has to be what it is, because it is stupid when you consider that the entire plot of one of the most popular books turned television shows ever, Game of Thrones, is driven due to an initial incestual relationship. Nobody complains about that though. All of a sudden some random woman makes a game where one of the endings to chapter 2 gives the characters a supernaturally induced vision and everyone loses their minds.
